Stretch mark camouflage is paramedical tattooing that blends custom skin-toned pigment into flat, light stretch marks so they contrast less with the skin around them. Paramedical camouflage is a niche service, and clients regularly travel to the Las Vegas studio from elsewhere in Nevada. Visits are by appointment only, and because the work usually takes several sessions, we plan the schedule together at consultation.

In Nevada this is licensed body art work, so an artist needs a state Body Art Card to perform it at all — that is the card issued after six months of supervised apprenticeship. Beyond the licence it is paramedical rather than decorative work: pigment is matched to your own skin instead of chosen from a chart, and the assessment matters as much as the application, because several kinds of marks and scars are not suitable for camouflage at all. Here the assessment comes first, and a small test area is worked on where the skin or the marks make it sensible, with the healed result judged together before a larger area is booked.
Mature, stable and mainly light marks. Fresh red or purple ones have to finish maturing first — until then the area is still changing and there is nothing stable to match a pigment to.
Usually 2–3, more for large or awkward areas. Each follows the previous one at about 6–8 weeks, once that stage has fully healed.
Not always. The first appointment starts with an assessment of the marks and your skin. Where a small test area is recommended, it shows how your skin takes the pigment and whether a serum stage is needed first; the healed test is then judged together before a larger area is planned. For mature, stable marks a test area is not always necessary.
The visible healing takes 7–14 days. By roughly a month the skin has calmed and the early redness has gone, but the colour is still settling; the real retention and the match to surrounding skin are only clear at 6–8 weeks, which is also when the areas for the next pass are chosen.
Light to moderate scratching, vibration, tingling or pressure, with the intensity depending on where the marks are and how large the area is.
The contrast between the marks and the skin around them is much reduced and the area is visibly less noticeable. Camouflage does not erase a stretch mark or alter its texture — it addresses the difference in colour. Pigment fades gradually and can be renewed after roughly 2–5 years.
It can, temporarily. Surrounding skin tans while implanted pigment does not change colour with it, so after strong sun the difference in tone may stand out more for a while.
