Paramedical tattoo training at MB Beauty is the Paramedical Tattoo track of the six-month apprenticeship required in Nevada: $5,200, weekly supervised work on live models in Las Vegas, covering scar and stretch mark camouflage, skin camouflage, 3D areola restoration and work on compromised skin. It is for certified artists who hold a basic course certificate and a Bloodborne Pathogens Certificate.
This program fulfills the state-required apprenticeship component only — it does not replace basic training or certification.
What the Track Covers
Paramedical work is a different discipline from cosmetic permanent makeup. The client is not choosing a shade; the pigment has to disappear into their own skin, the tissue is often unpredictable, and the first decision is usually whether to treat at all. The track teaches the rules this studio publishes for its own clients and applies in every case — which is why each item below links to the page a client would read.
Scar camouflage, face and body
Assessing whether a scar is ready: mature, fully healed, stable and lighter than the surrounding skin — usually 6–12 months after surgery. Which scars are turned away: keloids, red or bright pink scars, raised or thickened ones, scars still crusting, and scars darker than the skin.
Stretch mark camouflage
Mature, stable, mainly light marks; fresh red or purple marks have to finish maturing first. Why a tan changes the result temporarily, and how the next pass is chosen at 6–8 weeks.
Paramedical skin camouflage
Pigment matched to the client’s own skin rather than chosen from a chart, and a texture pass without pigment where a scar needs smoothing before any colour.
3D areola restoration
Dimensional shading and custom colour matching after mastectomy or reconstruction; timing no earlier than six months after the last surgery and only with the surgeon’s confirmation; design after top surgery planned for the result the client wants.
Corrective and restorative techniques
Assessing the skin before treatment: when a small test area is recommended, how the healed test is judged with the client, and when a mature stable scar can be treated without one.
Working with compromised skin
Where sensation is absent or unpredictable, when medical clearance is asked for — after complications, radiotherapy or difficult healing — and how sessions are spaced 6–8 weeks apart.
How the Six Months Run
The track sits inside the six-month apprenticeship, so the mechanics are the same for everyone. Your existing skill is assessed at the start, including whether you have worked on skin at all. You bring your own model and carry out the procedure with your mentor’s guidance, and practice on latex and skin simulation runs alongside the live work. Feedback is individual, and consultation, consent and aftercare protocols, along with safety, sanitation and compliance standards, are part of the program rather than an appendix to it.
The paperwork runs through the Southern Nevada Health District: your mentor signs Form 1B, you sit the Health District test and receive an Apprentice Card, work begins, and at the six-month mark Form 2B is signed and exchanged for your Body Art Card. Fees
The Paramedical Tattoo track is $5,200 for six months. Full Scope — the paramedical and permanent makeup tracks together, with a customized focus — is $6,800.
A $500 non-refundable deposit reserves your place. The fee covers the apprenticeship as a whole, and what it includes is identical across tracks; only the scope differs. Certified artists who want facial work instead should look at the Permanent Makeup track, at $3,800.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, your mentor signs Form 2B — Body Art Experience Verification, confirming your training. You submit the completed form to the Southern Nevada Health District to upgrade your Apprentice Body Art Card to a Permanent Body Art Card.
The apprenticeship follows the Nevada route and is for artists who plan to work in Nevada. Licensing rules differ between states; if you intend to practise elsewhere, check that state’s own requirements.
